On April 3rd, 2024, Dr. Kolia, an Illinois alumna with a Ph.D. in the School of Social Work and a graduate minor in Gender Relations in International Development, shared information about Reaching Across Borders services to Syrian Refugees in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. She discussed how war transforms society, and she dispelled biases and myths about Syrian refugee girls and women.
