Jackline Madegwa, from Kenya, is currently a Master's student in the School of Music. She studied Music Education at Kenyatta University and earned a bachelor's degree in Musical Arts and in Psychology from Alderson-Broaddus College, West Virginia. She has participated in community service projects on HIV/AIDS Youth Awareness in Nairobi, in refugee projects, in Habitat for Humanity, and in various church projects. She has performed solos and in ensembles, and she currently volunteers as a music tutor for undergraduate students in the School of Music. Her vision is to establish an academic and artistic center in Kenya that will offer education in the arts, basic reading, writing and arithmetic and also music therapy for women and children in the community, especially those orphaned or affected by HIV/AIDS..
