Tutin Aryanti, from Indonesia, is a PhD student in the School of Architecture. She has master's and bachelor's degrees in Architecture from the Institute of Teknologi Bandung. She has taught Architectural History, Theory, and Methodology at the Indonesia University of Education, and she has done research for the Gender and Women's Studies at Akatiga Center for Social Analysis in Indonesia. She has won numerous awards including a Fulbright Scholarship, and she has several publications in journals in Indonesia. She is active in student and community organizations. Her research interests revolve around the Islamic gender ideology, Muslim women's agency and political participation, and the ethno-religious aspects in the production of gendered space/architecture.
