Monica Yanez-Pagans is from Bolivia and is a PhD student in Agricultural and Consumer Economics. She received a Master’s in Banking and Finance from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain. She has worked with the Inter-American Development Bank in Bolivia and in Washington, and last summer she worked with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva, Switzerland. She has received several awards and has published articles in the Journal of Applied Economics and the Journal of Banking and Finance. Her research focuses on the intra-household resource allocation process within indigenous and non-indigenous groups that determines girls’ and boy’s education and the implications of these investments for adult outcomes.
