liliana Carrizo is a Ph.D. student in Ethnomusicology, focusing on Jewish-Iraqi musical practices. She completed her Master’s degree on Mongolian music of the central Gobi desert at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and BA in Music from Williams College. Her current research focuses on the musical practices of Iraqi Jews, their implication in the politics of identity, and their role in the construction and negotiation of individual and collective memory. She co-founded the Itgel Foundation.
