Rachel Smith, is a MD student and a Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her BA in International Studies from the University of Oregon. Her research includes Women's land rights in Malawi in the context of past and current land reform policies; and the role of World Band and International Monetary Fund policies in influencing the international migration of the healthcare labor force.
