Angelina Colter is a doctoral student in Anthropology at UIUC. She has a B.A. in Social Science/Anthropology from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and an M.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology from UIUC. She has received several fellowships and research awards as well as Best Teaching Assistant Awards. She has spent almost two years in her two research sites in Peru investigating the ways in which micro-enterprises affect women’s strategies of survival to better understand gendered poverty and women’s agency in Latin America.
