Maria Silva from Ecuador, is a doctoral student in Communications Research. Using interactive video documentary methodology, she has been studying transnational motherhood and migration among the Mexican migrant communities of the Midwest. She has given several conference presentations based on her scholarship and will travel to Mexico to document the reintegration of women into their home communities.

Angelina Cotler a doctoral student in Anthropology, is from Peru. Her research interests focus on the improvements of women’s economic conditions in Peru. Her dissertation will examine the interconnections of micro-credit schemes for small-scale enterprises and social networks. She has presented her research at numerous international conferences and has worked both at the grass-roots level and in a number of agencies in Lima and Tarapoto
